Greetings From London!

Well, it's been interesting so far. First two flights were fine, in fact it was kind of romantic. We had breakfast in Atlanta, lunch in New York and dinner over the Atlantic ocean. After watching the sunset and moon rise we settled in for the night and expected to wake up in Kiev. Instead we were woken up by the pilot saying we were diverting to London Heathrow because we had an "electrical issue" that needed to be checked out. We landed and they told us it was really oil leaking from the #1 engine. After about 3 hours of waiting on the plane - and sleeping - they finally decided that the problem couldn't be fixed today and said they were going to put us up in a hotel and fly everyone out tomorrow morning. Now normally we'd be delighted to spend a day in London on Delta's tab, but not today! Our appointment with the SDA is tomorrow at 10:30 and their plan wouldn't get us there in time and I doubt the SDA would be very happy. So the short story is Delta is flying us on today via Munich. We arrive in Kiev tonight about 10:30 - looooonnnggg day!!

We met a couple on the plane who adopted a 12 year old girl last year and is returning to adopt her friend. Their appointment is Wed so they have the extra time. We also met a lady who is adopting her FOURTH child from Eastern Europe, and all teens. She's a very nice lady and we are traveling with her to Kiev. Her husband couldn't come - he got sick - so I think it is good that we have each other to help each other out. Both families have adopted older children from Ukraine and it has worked out wonderfully for them. We are exchanging contact information - they are from Texas - and plan to keep in touch. Met the one little girl on the plane and she is a very sweet child. It's encouraging to talk to someone who has not only done this before with older children, but likes it so much they keep coming back for more.

Gotta run - 4 minutes left! Please keep praying for us!!
